Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 12 July 2026 · Forms part of our Terms & ConditionsThe short version. Store your business files. Don’t store anything illegal, don’t share things you have no right to share, don’t attack the service, and don’t use us to hurt anybody.
1. What this covers
This policy applies to everything you upload, store, share or transmit using Vaulex Pro Cloud Drive, and to anyone you give access to. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what the people you share folders with do.
2. You must not use Vaulex to store or share
- Anything unlawful under the law of England and Wales.
- Child sexual abuse material. We report this to the authorities without warning and close the account immediately.
- Material that incites violence, terrorism or hatred.
- Material that infringes someone else’s copyright, trade mark or other rights — including films, music, software or books you do not have the right to distribute.
- Malware, viruses, ransomware, or tools designed to break into systems.
- Content that harasses, threatens, defames or impersonates someone.
- Someone else’s personal or confidential data that you have no right to hold.
- Stolen data, or credentials obtained from a breach.
3. You must not
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, other accounts, or the systems behind them.
- Probe, scan or test the security of the service without our written permission.
- Interfere with the service or place an unreasonable load on it, including by automated means.
- Use the service as a public content delivery network, a download mirror, or a public file-sharing site. Vaulex is business storage, not a distribution platform.
- Resell the service, or share your account credentials so that many people use one paid account. If you need colleagues to have access, share folders with them — it is free.
- Get round, or try to get round, any storage limit or technical restriction.
4. Sharing links
Share links are for sending files to the people you intend to send them to. Do not post them publicly, or use them to distribute material to the world at large. Where you are sharing anything sensitive, use the password and expiry options.
5. Storage that is fair
Your plan gives you a stated amount of storage and we do not throttle you. But the service is intended for ordinary business use. If an account is being used in a way that damages the service for everyone else — for example as a bulk distribution point, or in an automated way that hammers our systems — we will contact you and, if it continues, we may limit or suspend the account.
6. Reporting abuse
If you believe something hosted on Vaulex breaks this policy, please tell us at once using our report a file page, or via our contact page. Tell us the link and what the problem is. We investigate every report.
If you are a rights holder and material of yours has been shared without permission, tell us the same way. Include the link, what the work is, and confirmation that you hold the rights. We will remove infringing material promptly.
7. What we do if the rules are broken
Depending on how serious it is, we may:
- ask you to remove the material;
- remove or disable access to it ourselves;
- suspend your account;
- close your account, without a refund;
- report the matter to the police or another authority, and preserve evidence.
Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right. For the most serious material — child sexual abuse material in particular — we will act immediately and without notice.
8. We do not monitor your files
We do not routinely inspect the contents of customer accounts, and we do not want to. We act on reports, on lawful requests, and where we have to in order to keep the service running safely.
