Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 12 July 2026 · These terms apply to Vaulex Pro Cloud Drive at securemyfiles.co.ukThe short version. Your plan is a subscription that renews automatically so your files stay safe. You can cancel online at any time in two clicks, with no notice period. If you cancel, you keep the service until the end of the period you have already paid for. If you change your mind within 14 days of your first payment and you have not made significant use of the service, we will refund you.
1. Who we are
Vaulex Pro Cloud Drive is provided by Vaulex Group Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17004770), whose registered office is 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under reference ZC087196. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “Vaulex” mean Vaulex Group Ltd, and “you” means the person or business using the service.
You can reach us at our contact page.
2. The service
We provide online storage for your business files. You can upload files through our website or, on a paid plan, through our Cloud Drive application, which makes your storage appear as a drive on your computer. You can share folders with other Vaulex account holders, and share individual files by link with people who do not have an account.
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms, our Acceptable Use Policy and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
3. Your account
- You must give accurate details when you register, and keep them up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for everything that happens under your account.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got hold of your login.
- Accounts are for a single person or business. If you want colleagues to have access, share folders with them rather than sharing your password — it is free, and it lets you remove their access later without disturbing anyone else.
- You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account.
4. Subscription and automatic renewal
Paid plans are subscriptions. Before you pay, we show you the amount, the billing period and the fact that the plan renews. When you subscribe:
- We take the first payment immediately and your account is upgraded straight away.
- Your plan then renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price shown when you subscribed, using the payment method you gave us, until you cancel.
- Every payment produces an invoice, which you can view and download as a PDF from Billing & Invoices in your account.
Payments are taken and card details are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
VAT. Vaulex Group Ltd is not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is added and the price you see is the price you pay. If we become VAT registered we will tell you before it affects what you are charged.
Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe will retry it automatically and we will let you know so you can update your card. If payment cannot be taken, we may suspend the paid features of your account and, after a reasonable period, return it to the free plan.
Price changes. If we change the price of your plan, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before it affects a renewal, so you can cancel if you would rather not continue.
5. Cancellation and refunds
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time, yourself, online: sign in, open Billing & Invoices, choose Manage billing and cancel. There is no notice period, no cancellation fee and no phone call.
When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. After that, your account returns to the free plan.
14-day money-back guarantee
If you change your mind within 14 days of your first payment on a plan, tell us and we will refund that payment in full, provided you have not made significant use of the service (for example, by uploading a large amount of data and then downloading it). This is in addition to any statutory rights you may have.
After that
We do not generally refund part-used periods, because you keep full access until the period ends. If something has gone wrong at our end, tell us — we will put it right, and that may include a refund.
If you are a consumer
Most of our customers buy for business purposes. If you are buying as a consumer rather than for your business, you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. By subscribing and asking us to start the service immediately, you accept that the service begins at once; if you then cancel within the 14 days, we may charge for what you have used, though in practice our money-back guarantee above is more generous. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
6. Acceptable use
You must not use Vaulex to store or share anything unlawful, or to harm others. The full rules are in our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: no illegal material, no material you have no right to distribute, no malware, no attempts to break the service, and nothing that puts us or other customers at risk. If you break those rules we may remove the material, suspend your account, or close it.
7. Your files
Your files are yours. We do not claim any ownership of what you upload. We only access your files where we have to — for example to run and support the service, to fix a fault, to respond to a lawful request, or to investigate a report of abuse.
Where they are kept. Files uploaded to Vaulex Pro Cloud Drive are stored in the United Kingdom, in an ISO 27001 certified data centre, encrypted in transit and at rest.
Backups are your responsibility too. We take reasonable care of your data, but no service is infallible. Vaulex is not a substitute for keeping your own copy of anything you truly cannot afford to lose. Please keep at least one other copy of critical files.
Getting your data back. You can download your files at any time while your account is active. If you close your account, download anything you want to keep first — see section 10.
If you store other people’s personal data in Vaulex (your clients’ records, for example), we act as your data processor. The terms for that are in our Data Processing Agreement.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the service running at all times, but we do not promise it will never be unavailable. We may occasionally need to take it offline for maintenance, and we will try to do that at quiet times and to give notice where we can. We are not liable for interruptions caused by things outside our reasonable control, such as your internet connection, a supplier outage, or a cyber attack.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else which cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to that, and because our charges are modest:
- We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of contracts, or loss of anticipated savings.
- We are not liable for any loss you could have avoided by keeping your own copy of your files.
- Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
If you are using the service for the purposes of your business, you accept that this allocation of risk is reasonable given the price of the service.
10. Ending the agreement
You can close your account at any time from your account settings, or by asking us.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if we are required to by law, or if you do not pay. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put things right.
When an account is closed, we will delete your files in line with the retention periods set out in our Privacy Policy. Please download anything you want to keep before you close your account. If we close your account for a breach of the rules, we may delete the offending material immediately.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time — for example if the law changes or we add features. If a change materially affects you, we will give you reasonable notice by email or in your account before it takes effect. If you do not accept the change, you can cancel.
12. Complaints, and the law that applies
If something has gone wrong, please tell us — see our Complaints Policy. We would much rather fix it than argue about it.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of them still apply.
